Throughout the self-reflection themed art residency Every Me in Adana, Turkey, it is particularly the rooftops that call my attention. During one of the encounters with the locals, I come across the custom of kite making and flying them from the city’s rooftops. One of the key characteristics of the kite is to be lead by the forces of the elements. The dancing kite seeks the overview, it becomes fluid in perspective and maintains an elemental playfulness. Inspired by the language of the kite, I step into a discourse where the body becomes medium and narrator of the culture I encounter.
